Dr. Krista Cournoyer is an experienced, licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist, earning her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1997, having served as Associate Professor and School Psychology Program Director at Rhode Island College from 2000 – 2006 and currently contributing faculty at Walden University.
Dr. Cournoyer specializes in the assessment of children, youth and adults to further explore concerns regarding difficulties with learning (math, reading, writing, dyslexia, dyscalculia), memory, attention and concentration (ADHD), processing speed, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, self-esteem, stress management, as well as autism spectrum disorders and giftedness. The outcome of such assessment is a comprehensive understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses, for child or adult learners, leading to a plan of action tailored to your needs.
As a result of 18 years of experience in both private practice, outpatient and public school settings in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida, Dr. Cournoyer offers a uniquely comprehensive service, having specialized knowledge about K through 12 and college level learners. Such knowledge can be applied to bridge the gap between your needs and relevant state and federal educational mandates.
