Meet Damaris
As an experienced clinician Damaris enjoys helping her clients develop their own skills by teaching them evidenced-based strategies designed to address the problems specified by each client.
Damaris, a Board Certified Addictions Professional specializes in early substance abuse intervention with teens in both individual and group settings. With over 21 years of experience she has treated individuals suffering with substance abuse and duel diagnosis such as a mental health issue and an addiction.
Her skills set include treating individuals experiencing not only substance abuse but other mental health issues as well. She has worked with individuals of all ages facing depression, anxiety, PTSD and more.
Damaris uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused therapy, Hypnosis and motivational techniques.
Damaris received her LCSW degree from Florida International University, a B.A. from Loyola University for psychology majors and a MSW (in behavioral psychology) from Florida International University.
Damaris is also certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment/Trainer, Addiction Professional, Clinical and Administrative Supervision and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Damaris speaks both English and Spanish. Her her pare time she enjoys gardening and yoga.
