Meet Jeffrey
Jeffrey believes that a person’s past does not define their future.
He looks forward to helping you reach your goals and better your world.
He utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral approach to help clients identify the root of their emotional and/or behavioral struggles. He then applies evidence-based tools to help each client achieve their individual goals.
Jeffrey’s interest in psychology and how the mind works began while he was playing competitive golf at IMG academy and continued when he became a member of the golf team at the University of South Florida. Through these personal experiences he learned a variety of strategies to deal with competitive pressure.
Jeffrey received his Bachelor of Arts as well as Master of Arts in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling degrees from the University of South Florida.
While completing his Masters’ degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, Jeffrey learned evidence-based interventions to help deal with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, child/adolescent behavioral problems, and interpersonal relationships.
For the past 3 years, Jeffrey has worked at Centerstone of Florida, a community agency. In his position at Centerstone, Jeffrey met one on one with students in schools around Manatee County, teaching an evidence-based curriculum called “Too Good for Drugs.” He provided counseling to children who were abusing substances and/or had behavioral problems. Additionally, Jeffrey has taught parenting classes, helping parents better handle their children’s difficulties. He has also taught anger management classes.
Jeffrey is currently working as a therapist at both Centerstone of Florida and at Dr. Quintal and Associates.
Jeffrey is experienced in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to facilitate change.
