Meet Michaele
Michaele strives to help each client see the possibilities, not the limitations.
“I feel my job is to understand my client’s “story” as much as possible; that is, what they know and believe about themselves and their challenges. Sometimes our stories hold us back or throw us off track. I want to help my client rewrite his or her story so that the client can achieve his or her goals.”
Michaele has been in practice since the 1980’s. She worked in a medical setting for most of that time, helping patients learn skills to manage stress, anxiety and depression, as well as chronic symptoms such as pain, headaches and insomnia. While there she received training in general biofeedback, which is an evidence based method for helping clients to become more aware of how they physically react to stress. Once they are aware they can change it, thereby having a positive impact on their health.
Michaele is also trained in marital and family therapy and enjoys working with adolescents. She describes her style as collaborative and solution focused. She likes to use many types of interventions to help her clients, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodrama, and mindfulness. Michaele is a licensed clinical social worker and a board certified biofeedback therapist.
When she is not working, Michaele enjoys gardening, walking her Australian terrier and biking. She is a member of the Florida Native Plant Society.
